In the interest of life-long enrichment, the Sheboygan Area School District-Community Recreation Department serves and supports the community through development, initiation, coordination, and support of a variety of recreational activities and facilities for people of all ages.

There is a locked drop box outside the door at 607 S. Water Street for staff timesheets, correspondence, or activity registrations.
The department works in cooperation with a variety of local organizations to provide area residents with a diversified slate of recreational opportunities.
The Be Active catalog contains all the great activities you expect from us, just in a new package. In future issues, Be Active wants to tell the stories of how Sheboygan gets involved and has fun and we need your help. If you participate in an activity, tell us about it. if you love working with an instructor, give them a glowing review. If you capture a great moment in a photo, send it to us. You can send your stories and photos to firstname.lastname@example.org and you might be featured in a future catalog. Let's celebrate being active together!
The Community Recreation Department occasionally uses photos of participants for promotional purposes. By registering for the program, you have granted us permission to use your photograph for promotional purposes unless otherwise noted.
Financial assistance may be available to those in the Sheboygan Area School District eligible for the free or reduced hot lunch program. You must show your current letter stating your free or reduced lunch status to receive a discount on classes.

Contact the Community Recreation Department at 920-459-3775 for details about reserving/renting facilities. To use a district facility, a certificate of liability insurance in the amount of $1,000,000.00 or more naming Sheboygan Area School District as an additional insured for the duration of usage is required. Please contact your insurance agent for details of the certificate of liability insurance. You must download and save the form. The completed form may be e-mailed to Crystal at email@example.com or mailed to or dropped off at the Recreation Department at 607 S. Water St, Sheboygan.
Your school facilities are available for private group use. Rental rates vary depending upon facility and personnel needed. Cafeterias, gymnasiums, libraries may be rented. Some restrictions apply. The State of Wisconsin now requires the school district to charge sales tax for rentals. If your organization is considered tax exempt, proof of this status is required in order for the sales tax to be waived. In addition, to use district facilities the organization or person renting the space must show proof of $1 million liability insurance policy.
Special groups (such as Scouts, 4-H, Jr. Raiders and Jr. Redwings) are allowed to use the facilities at no charge as long as the event is scheduled during regularly staffed hours of operation. Contact the Community Recreation Department to see if your group qualifies.
